Designed in 2023 the Swoop Shelf is part of my permanent collection.
The Swoop Shelves are made to order from British grown Ash. The form is simple, and yet incredibly unexpected. The folded solid wooden shelf curves seamlessly around to create two usable shelf surfaces.
The Swoop Shelf is steam bent in Devon by an incredibly skilled craftsperson who I am delighted to be working with. He also makes the Peel Pendant. The design of Swoop was inspired by rolls of double sided tape that I used for an art project in 2010. (Ignore what I say in the video… I got confused!) The first version of the Swoop Shelf was made when I was 15 years old. I had always imagined it made in wood, but it wasn’t until 2023 that this dream was made a reality.
