The commercial reality
Japanese timber currently faces only 10% tariffs entering the US market, against 30–45% on Canadian softwood. The supply gap in Western Red Cedar is growing due to old-growth deferrals and protection, mill closures and wildfire losses.

We understand that Western Red Cedar has earned its place in construction. However with supply contracting, prices have reached all time highs. We're not asking anyone to compromise, however we're offering something genuinely worth considering in its own right.
Japan harvests a fraction of its annual forest growth, and has significant reserves ready for harvest, with active government support for export expansion.
